Mobile ITV for tractors and mopeds comes to Castelló

Owners of tractors and mopeds in Castelló d'Empúries will be able to have their vehicles inspected without leaving the municipality next week.

The mobile unit of the ITV, the Inspecció Tècnica de Vehicles, will visit the town on Wednesday, 30 September 2026. It will carry out inspections from 8am to 12 noon.

The ITV is Spain's compulsory roadworthiness test, similar to the MOT in the United Kingdom or the TÜV check in Germany. Vehicles must pass it regularly to remain legally on the road. Normally, owners have to take their vehicles to a fixed inspection station. The mobile unit saves them that trip.

Where and when

The unit will be set up at the Cooperativa de Castelló d'Empúries, the local agricultural cooperative, on the Camí vell de Fortià. This is the old road towards the neighbouring village of Fortià.

Two types of vehicle can be inspected on the day: agricultural vehicles, such as tractors, and mopeds. Owners can complete the periodic inspection their vehicles require.

The morning session lasts four hours. Anyone planning to attend should keep this short window in mind.
